Met up with work friend Howard and did a 'moderate' 12m route from a MTB guide book. It was a stupendous day, absolutely glorious, so neither of us were in a hurry. Just as well, some parts were still very muddy and hardgoing so it felt more like 20m. I had my first big fall! Charging down a muddy descent, couldn't brake too much as it was so slippery, then hit a rut where the bike somersaulted, I did a 'Superman' over the bars, and managed to damage my knee and hand a bit. Luckily a pub was half a mile away to go clean up, but it was a terribly terribly posh gastro-pub, and here was some scroat covered in mud tryig to look all responsible and grown up...

The woodlands were terrific and most the time we could've been in Wales or the Peak district, amazing to think we were in Surrey, and on such a gorgeous quintessentially English spring day. Marvellous! Pass the tea...
